A great TV in a great price. Many of us paid $2399.00, through Paul’s TV. We ordered the #82838 and has been upgraded to the #82840 from no extra demand (I think the #38 has been out of stock/ discontinued). We all ordered it just ahead of Christmas and it arrived about 7 days after, which we thought was impressive, due to the holiday – Florida(?) to Ohio in a week! It was an easy setup and its light weight too. My wife and I easily, even though nervously…, lifted it on the TV “stand”. We purchased (2) blk/ brwn Besta Jarga($99 ea.)Television stands from Ikea that will put the TV on * both side by side w/o the actual included castors. This unit is useful and was WD-82838 encouraged by a TV operator on another Amazon review. While it is not necessarily glossy, we think the color is a-okay, and we are generally picky kinds… I like it much better(looks & feature sensible) than the Tech Craft stand that Mitsubishi can be pushing, plus the prices are good. I’m sure there’s nicer out there in the event you look…FYI, the Mit TV built in/on ’stand’ is for stabilizing simply.

We have not done any sort of fancy or difficult set up or calibration however. I’ll update, whenever we do. Out of the box, the photo is good, but I believe I can tweek the color a number of and there is a sound callibration which is recommended…There is an microphone stand, included, that is used for this function. I haven’t read about, or even used it yet : will update. Your 16 built-in speakers sound good, although we will probably end up linking our surround sound some day. Our sub woofer is currently hooked up directly to the television, so this helps that sound better. I can’t see how “Immersive Sound” will ever exchange rear speakers…

So far my only grievance would be the lack of world wide web apps – Absolutely no NETFLIX. This is over and above ridiculous, but it is what it’s, so the wireless Hardware adapter we acquired was a total spend of money – that will stinks. Maybe it will get used for a firmware update some day? My personal advice, save your money, unless you like Vudu for reasons uknown…At present, we use our PS3 regarding Netflix but we are buying the Roku 2 XD. It really is ashame and “BS” that our brand new, expensive high tech Television set is so lacking in the actual apps, but at this point, whats another $80.00… Another complaint is usually that the Mitsubishi remote is not backlit – silly, very foolish…The remote’s buttons & functions are laid out properly though. Oh, by the way, the ipod remote application is cool, nevertheless redundant and excessive. We have this app on an ipad… “Cute” will be a better description for that iod app (IMO) but I am one of those folks that’s yet to comprehend the ipod/ipad app fascination that sooo many people have……

So far, it seems like our Kinnect camera works good on top of the TV(height wise).

Beyond which, this is one besides of a TV along with a bargain! We got a new 5 yr. guarantee through Paul’s TV pertaining to $249 and it included a great surge protector. It is better than what we experienced on our old 72″ Mit and I considered they said this surge protector retailed for 70 bucks. At any rate, we have peace of mind for five years. Our previous Mitsubishi, a 1999 style(?)we bought (utilised) 10 years ago, nonetheless works fine : but it’s a prehistoric compared to the new High-definition 82″!!! No comparison.
